Hi again! next week, we´ll be dealing with stereotypes, so I would like you to read this text I´ve found and tell me whether you agree or disagree with these stereotypes!
National stereotypesThere are a variety of common national stereotypes about the inhabitants of various nations, held by inhabitants of other nations. Such stereotypes are usually prejudicial and often ill-informed, and often overlap with ethnic or racial stereotypes. However, some stereotypes may be positive (e.g. Australians are good at sports), although this does not make them acceptable.Examples of common national sterotypes include:
Asians are all experts in martial arts and good at math.
Australians wear weatherbeaten hats with dangling corks, and are good at sports.
English tolerate eccentric people, drink tea, and are football enthusiasts. They also have bad teeth, talk posh and think they are the better of you.
French people never bathe, smoke heavily, always wear a beret, eat frogs' legs, are rude, and are rather weak and cowardly.
Germans and Austrians are Nazis who consume huge amounts of beer, sausages, cabbage and behave like machines. They have no sense of humor.
Japanese are workaholics and are of short stature; Japanese tourists spend their entire trip taking pictures of things. They copy and try to fit the western cultures.
Spaniards are people who always have bull races.
Swedish have all blonde hair and Swedish girls are good looking.
Russians drink vodka and are Communists.
Americans are fat, ignorant, war-mongering and/or boorish, don't know about other countries and talk with stupid accents.
Irish are drunk and/or fiery-tempered redheads and have a large amount of children.
Chinese Do not respect laws. Talk loud regardless where they are.
Indians smell like curry and either own restaurants or convenience stores, drive taxicabs or are employed in the IT sector or work in the Gas stations. Are also good talkers.
Italian men are chauvinists, hot-blooded and/or over-emotional, and live an indulgent lifestyle. Often they are fashionable and elegant looking and drive sport cars.
Brazilian women are sexy and Brazilian men are great soccer players.
Africans are hard workers.
Mexicans are dirty, drink too much tequila, work for little money, are illegal immigrants, and take naps. Sex maniac also.

Hi everybody!
ResponderEliminarWell, I think that all of this stereotypes have made a long time ago.
For example, Germans are nazis (can be that now there are people who thinks with this ideology, but I'm sure that's a minority of this society); Spaniards have bull races (it's truth that's a most important tradition but now... take naps, drink wine, eat tapitas del bar, dance sevillanas!!! And the GAZPACHO, of course!)
Always highlight worst tradition or history, but i think that should be the opposite: Describe the good things of the society, no superficial!
Hi Vanessa!!!!
ResponderEliminarI agree with Mercè. I agree with some stereotypes but not with all of them.
For exemple, for me the Spaniards aren't people that like go to bull races. Spain has a lot of different cultures. When you talk with foreing people about Spain, they think in bull races, and Spain has more things(monuments as Gaudí, Door of Alcalá, andalusian horses, etc.)
See you soon!!!
Alexandra
Hi!
ResponderEliminarI agree with you!
I think that the cause of the stereotypes are the prejudices or bad experiences. So the stereotypes are inaccurate.
See you!
Hi people!
ResponderEliminarI agree whit the idea of than the stereotypes are building by the passage of time but more by the form of to think.
I believe than you have than to think than the stereotypes aren’t 100% true.
Good weekend !

hello everybody!
ResponderEliminarIt's true that in all the countries there are a lot of stereotypes, but I think that the people souldn't believe in these prejudices, because in more situations are false and offer a bad image of the country.
byee!
Hi darlings!
ResponderEliminarI' m agree with the text because explains the characteristics more obvious about the people that leave in differents countries.I think that the stereotypes match with the reality, but although no.
Bye!
Hello! My opinion is...
ResponderEliminarThere are a lot of stereotypes about the countries and his inhabitants. These stereotypes can show habits and characteristics, but sometimes they are exaggerated. For example, neither the asians aren't all experts in martial arts nor all the english like football, although most people swedish peoople have all blonde hair and the japanese are short stature. These physical characteristics are true but the personality don´t reflect the reality and we can't generalize.
